The Muslim Alliance of Indiana (MAI) organized an udhiya drive as part of its Call for Social Justice. The Committee on Social Justice is co-chaired by Dr Paarlberg and Dr Khaja. MAI received donations from across the state of Indiana from Muslim Hoosiers for goat and sheep meet to be distributed to the poor in Indiana. MAI would like to thank Hafiz Shahid Lodhi who organized the project that resulted in the distribution of meat to Iraqi and Burmese refugees in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, poor Muslim Hoosiers, local shelter and other deserving Hoosiers. MAI would also like to thank those who donated to this important cause. “It is vital that we feed the poor in our community while we also help many people abroad,” stated Dr Ibad Ansari, MAI President. “Muslim Hoosiers are an important asset to Indiana and this project is simply one illustration of how we can make a different for those less fortunate.”
