The Rector of the Islamic University of Moscow traveled to Indiana as part of the US Department of State’s program to meet with the Muslim Alliance of Indiana. The meeting included State Representative Ed DeLaney who is fluent in Russia, Indianapolis attorney Tim DeLaney, who is fluent in Arabic and MAI Executive Director, Shariq Siddiqui.
The Rector is a hafiz of Quran and has a Ph.d in Islamic Studies and in addition to serving as Rector he is also one of nine Qadi’s (judges) in Russia. MAI shared information about its many programs and also provided him with information about Muslim Hoosiers and their institutions.
