Deputy-Mayor of Paris Travels to Indiana to learn about MAI programs

The Deputy-Mayor of Paris, France, travelled to Indianapolis, Indiana to learn more about the Muslim Alliance of Indiana (MAI) and specifically MAI's Call for Social Justice programs including the MAI Legal Services, MAI Women's Fund and MAI Unity Clinic.

 

Deputy-Mayor Hamou Bouakkaz who is a French-Muslim serves as the deputy mayor of Paris, France.  As a guest of the US State Department he travelled to Indiana to learn more about how Muslim American's are actively engaged in civic activities while serving the community.  MAI was selected as a model organization.

 

The meeting was attended by the Interational Center of Indianapolis, Mr. Bouakkaz, Rafia Zakaria and Shariq Siddiqui.

 

"This is yet another recognition of the work of MAI and how it positively reflects upon Muslim Hoosiers," stated Dr Ibad Ansari, President of MAI.
