Governor's Annual Iftar Governor Mitch Daniels, in partnership with MAI, hosts an annual Iftar at the statehouse. Over 300 Muslim Hoosiers attend. The first iftar took place in 2005. The event is sponsored by the Muslim Alliance of Indiana. Muslim Hoosiers break their fast at sunset and pray in the rotunda. The event starts with a brief program including remarks from the Governor.
